Finally after 3 years at SPARE shelter, Sindbad the amazing, extremely loyal, Handsome, Gentle, Senior pooch has been ADOPTED! smile emoticon Sindbad was adopted just over a week ago by a kind Egyptian man that wanted to give Sindbad a home, family and love in his old age... Sindbad is an indoors family member smile emoticon We WILL MISS Sindbad greatly, but are EXTREMELY HAPPY for him... Wishing them a few more years of happiness and loyal friendship together.

Every day different cases present themselves. From rescues and strays to pets. Each case is unique. From basic illnesses and Sterilizations (Spay/Neuter) to overall check ups and Flea/Tick treatments, Grooming etc. Thank you for your constant support and belief in SPARE. The least we can ever do for these sentient beings is give them the basic care and comfort they deserve and advising their caregivers and others of the proper ways to care for them via free/low cost treatments for those of no to little means and other ways.

Today a group of 19 students visit SPARE ..Part of a two day awareness session with the Egyptian Language School. Thanks to Seif ( Head student) for contacting SPARE and organizing the whole event with his School. The awareness session primarily focused on the history of Balady (stray) Dogs ( what are balady (Stray) dogs, History of dog domestication and our responsibility towards them, encouraging adoption and the need to SPAY/NEUTER...

Anisa, the almost 4 year old beautiful Light tabby and Fosdoka, the almost 1 year old Big beautiful Orange Tabby and white princess sharing a mother/daughter moment even though they are NOT related. Both came from different backgrounds. Anisa was saved by SPARE's president Amina from being thrown in to the Nile and Fosdoka was rescued as a tiny kitten on one of SPARE's TNRs.

Mau, once an abandoned friendly Egyptian Mau Cat on the streets was picked up by SPARE's TNR team. She was too friendly to go back to the dangers of Egyptian streets, so we decided to help her find a home. After over 9 months, she did find a home... and a very special home at that... Sherine a beautiful, kind and artistic Egyptian lady met Mau and both of them instantly clicked...

An Egyptian young man filled with kindness, charity and a great heart surprised us all and donated 15 blankets ( enough for 30 dogs when cut into two) for SPARE's dogs for the coming winter months! Ahmed Abdelhafeez, single handedly led a campaign to gather donations from his friends and family to buy blankets for the dogs... Most amazing of all is that young Ahmed has no vehicle, and using public transportation, with the help of his best friend, brought the heavy blankets to SPARE!
