From beloved house pets to strays. Spaying and Neutering help save Millions of lives from suffering... it is the MOST humane way of animal population control. It deals directly with limiting suffering and abuse before they even occur; abuse and suffering of animals in petshops, abandonment and poisonings, barbaric killings of strays. Common sense dictates that when animals are removed from an area, new ones come in to fill the void... and the ugly process continues. Spaying/neutering not only stops the birth of innocent lives in to a life of suffering, but also puts an end to 'territorial' markings; spraying and defecating. Vicious fighting and LOUD calls, HEALTH etc... It allows animals and people to coexist peacefully whether at home or outdoors.

On a daily basis we receive rescue cases that need help or treatment. Residences from the surrounding areas bring their pets or working animals for treatment. SPARE always welcome volunteers, who come to social with our dogs and cats anytime they feel like it.

Prince ...a lovely 4 month old German shepherd who was rescued after he has fell off the roof of a building and broke his leg and part of his hip. Prince was brought to the shelter in a car trunk by his former owners to the shelter! The former owners couldn't afford his surgery so they surrendered prince to the SPARE shelter. Prince is healing very nicely and he is already walking but with a little bit of a limp. He will heal perfectly in no time! Prince is up for adoption ...
