Rescued Blind, Egyptian Mau Kitten

A beautiful Blind, Egyptian Mau Kitten that was rescued by a young Egyptian man from the streets and brought to SPARE for treatment. When she was found, she was riddled with fleas and was in a horrible state... after over a week of TLC, she's now healthy and strong. SPARE Donkey Sanctuary Sakkara

The residents at SPARE Donkey Sanctuary in Saqqara; Donkeys, Dogs, cats... All living in harmony... The Balady Dogs and Cats are maintained in Free roaming packs and colonies. Any additional dogs and cats that join are immediately Spayed/Neutered and Vaccinated. Withing the big confines of the Sanctuary they are not at risk of outside threats. Animals and children ..it can't get any better

One of SPARE's main objectives is raising awareness regarding animal sentience and the importance of animals in Human life. We had a fabulous day at New vision International school. SPARE was invited to raise awareness and having fun with the kids teaching them about animal welfare and dog behavior. SPARE recent and ongoing Medical Cases

Every day different cases present themselves. From rescues and strays to pets. Each case is unique. From basic illnesses and Sterilizations (Spay/Neuter) to overall check ups and Flea/Tick treatments, Grooming etc Thank you for your constant support and belief in SPARE. The least we can ever do for these sentient beings is give them the basic care and comfort they deserve and advising their caregivers and others of the proper ways to care for them via free/low cost treatments for those of no to little means and other ways. A sad case of Local pet cosmetic misconceptions

A sad case of Local Pet Cosmetic Misconceptions was come upon at SPARE when a few misinformed young men brough in their dogs for low cost treatment. Two of their dogs, both German Shepherds, had their ears sewn together! yes SEWN together in order to force them to be erect! This sadly happens with many German Shepherds whose ears have not erected naturally or are still young and their owners want them to be 'presentable'... ( Read more... )

SPARE Free Medical Case; Working Donkey

A hard working donkey was brought in for free deworming. After that and an over all check up, the donkey was allowed a 20 minute rest while the owner was compensated for that. These extremely humble and highly intelligent animals are over worked and most often neglected by their owners until they get seriously ill etc. ( Read more... )

SPARE Medical Rescued Angel; Nala

Nala is a beautiful Egyptian Balady girl. She was reported by a Kind Egyptian Lady after she found her motionless in the Building Garage. Seems Nala was beaten viciously on her head. She was motionless and had extreme loss of co ordination on one side of her body. She was also in Extreme Shock when she arrived. ( Read more... )
