The plight of animals in Egypt is long and involved, and stems from a range of reasons: an unsympathetic community that does not understand, and therefore does not respect, animals as sentient beings; harsh stray animal control; bad veterinary care; lack of education in regards to animal behavior; dire conditions in establishments selling animals… the list is endless. We witness and hear about new and more imaginative modes of torture every day.
It is our aim at S.P.A.R.E. to prevent cruelty against all animals and to teach people that all living things must be treated with respect and compassion.
We rescue, shelter and treat abused animals. We also campaign against unethical and cruel treatment of animals all over Egypt.
